Camp Out!

Today we celebrated our love of reading by having a camp out... complete with s'mores, of course!  

We gathered around the campfire and read a story by one of our favorite authors, Chris Van Allsburg.  Then we snuggled around the fire with blankets, flashlights, and some great books.

We love reading! 

Author Visit: Nan Marino

The fourth grade at Shoemaker Elementary had an author visit via Skype on Wednesday, 12/16 with published author Nan Marino to learn more about the writing process.  Our fourth graders asked thoughtful questions to Ms. Marino and learned a lot.  They were especially excited to learn that published authors experience some of the same struggles that we do as writers.

Hour of Code (Star Wars Day)

Today we celebrated the release of the new Star Wars movie by doing some coding!  We went to code.org and participated in the Hour of Code by coding a Star Wars game.
